Like A Peacock

I want to be courted
Like how the birds try every spring
To be dazzled by colors of all shades

I want to hear the shrieking calls
A song for just that one girl
A noise heard from many miles away

I want to be fought over
The biggest males trying to make me theirs
Protected from all harm by the strongest of these

Like the cuttlefish
That hides as a female
Not just strength, but a mind

None of His animals give themselves away
So why, as a female, should I show myself off
For eyes that don't want my soul

I want to see a magnificant tail
Shown to my hidden colors
Like a peacock that courts his mate
